This track really showcases what all the guys added to the making of this album to me. Everyone did such a Fantastic job of adding their own creative parts to fill out my initial ideas. The bells, slide guitar and Bass jam at the end just sound awesome to me. It turned out even better than I thought it would.

I had watched the movie "Apocalypse Now" by Francis Ford Coppola, and of course, I found the climatic scene of Kurtz's assassination to be incredibly powerful. The use of the music (By The Doors *) really sent the images over the top. I wanted to do something similarly powerful at the end of "Cinder Block". I think we did a pretty darn good job... and no water buffaloes were harmed during the recording of this song!

*- This is most likely the only time anyone will ever hear me say that The Doors inspired me! Ha ha! I would also like to thank Val Kilmer and Dr. Moreau. You connect those dots....

Dreaming beyond the movies, they can’t unglue me if they try
Staring a cracked up driveway that resembles my face I recognize
Now that the blood is rushing and now I’m crushing what I find

How can I face the others?
How can I live with this?
How can I face the others?
Now that I’ve come to this?

Dreaming beyond the movies and they can’t move me if they try
Staring a Smartship Friday whos going my way, I wont think about it anymore

I’m on my way don’t worry when you're sinking again, I’ll spend half my time learning to swim
This Cinder Block won’t drown me if I kick till the end and forget about all that I did
